This just dawned on me, does anyone else think music is a religion?

Music is way to good to be a religion. With any religion there are always people who 'help you get the message right'. Interpretation is yours, feelings are yours. You don't need guidance of priests and such. Music is the only message. Especially when it is not a verbal one.

I think some music can be.
I would def take Shpongle to religious level. I'd go as far to say it's the closet thing to religion I have

Music is spiritual in nature, but I would say it is people that create religions, just like people create genre classifications. Take away the labels and constructs, its just spirituality, or its just music. That is the root of the thing, and therein lies its true nature. So I wouldn't say music is a religion, but it is spiritual.

Also can someone explain to me the story behind Shpongles tracks the 6th and 7th revelation and how the music describes it? Thnx.

The Shpongle canon is the closest thing I have to a "holy book". If Simon wanted to create a Shpongolian cult I'd be soooo down!

Absolutely.....in the way that religion is used as a doctrine to put the divine into comprehendible language, music does something very similar, but I believe music can be more accurate in transmitting higher feelings and experience when done with that intention.

Definitely a source of otherworldy vibes, maps to what one may refer to as divine perceptions,
